We asked Maeve to select her top 5 artworks from our Secret Auction 2019.

Can you guess the artist behind each artwork?

Lot 82 - The Meeting (Mixed Media on Paper)

This is as much about the painter’s imagination and body morphing that in my mind references Salvador Dali.

Lot 83 - Winter Wilderness (Glazed Acrylic on Card)

The winter light and my Canadian upbringing makes this piece feel instantly familiar - a welcome nod to Billy Childish.

Lot 86 - Faces (Glazed Acrylic on Card)

The bold graphic lines, jewel like colours that appear flat on the canvas express the feeling of a sea of people or crowd scene.

Lot 211 - Museum (Pencil, Gouache, Acrylic and Indian Ink on Paper)

How people behave in public is the flaneur obsession, this anonymous character study satisfies my people watching urge.

Lot 225 - Cutting Some Rug (Acrylic on Paper)

This charismatic picture hints at a narrative I’d love to be included in.
