Shifting figures, cut out paper landscapes and words unravelling. Laurie Cole’s work often starts with poetry. Similar to that of free verse, she works instinctively to what she feels is right or wrong, rather than using a formulaic structure or composition. By finding small moments in poems, she draws on everyday life and creates playful scenes of reflection that play with the relationship between text and image.
Born in Falmouth where she studied and art foundation before moving to Kingston to study Illustration and Animation. She now lives and works in Bristol.
