About Us
Art on a Postcard (AOAP) has historically raised money for The Hepatitis C Trust going towards its campaign to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by the year 2030. In 2014 Art on a Postcard was intended to be a one off secret postcard auction, but it went so well it has spawned a small industry. There are too many artists of note for me to mention who have taken part in our auctions but just a few include Peter Blake RA, Hurvin Anderson, Grayson Perry RA, Larry Clark, Martin Parr, Michael Craig Martin RA, Chantal Joffe RA, Claudette Johnson, Genieve Figgis, Catherine Opie, Wolfgang Tillmans, Paula Rego, Julian Opie, Hassan Hajajj, Cecily Brown, Marina Abramović, Florine Démosthène, Lubaina Himid, Loie Hollowell, Andrew Cranston and Christina Quarles.
Almost a decade later, we have a number of outstanding events under our belts including partnerships with The Other Art Fair and Photo London as well our annual outings with Art Car Boot Fair. Our work has also won us awards for our innovative fundraising initiatives.
In addition to our auctions, we have a print shop which includes a catalogue of contemporary art prints and a number of sell out print editions including Hate’s Outta Date by Harland Miller.
All of the artworks are available to view on our website while the auction bidding takes place online.
The auctions are curated and by invite only. All of the artists make their livings from the sale of art. Our auctions have raised well over a million pounds to date.
Art on a Postcard has been collaborating with numerous independent curators to broaden their impact and enhance the auctions. The organisation has also started collaborating with other charities. In 2022 they held an auction in aid of the refugee charity, Choose Love and 2023 saw their first auction in aid of War Child UK, with two more War Child projects planned for 2024. Additionally, Art on a Postcard has recently launched a wholesale greetings card line and their annual 'Best Of' boxsets.
