Dennis Gilbert

Dennis has been photographing buildings and the environment for over 30 years and is based in London. Born in South Africa, he began as an electrical engineer before studying photography in California. His work [mainly for architects, magazines and cultural organisations] can be described as a careful formal approach which nevertheless communicates the subject matter in an engaging way, whether it is about style, space and volume, atmosphere or texture. He is a founder of the architectural picture library VIEW, and in 2005 received an Honorary Fellowship from the RIBA for his contribution to architecture.
