How often does the Secret Auction take place?

The Secret Auction takes place each year.

How many cards are donated by each artist?

Each artist is sent a pack containing three blank postcards, the artist then decides whether they donate one or to up four pieces. 

How does the ‘secret’ element work? 

All the artwork can be seen on our website. A list of the contributors’ names will be circulated before the sale, but the work will be anonymous until the auction has ended. The list can be viewed here.

How big is the artwork? 

 The artwork is postcard size A6 / 10x15cms.

Are the postcards originals or prints?

All the artwork are a unique pieces.

Is all the artwork signed?

All artwork is signed on the reverse.

Where can I see the artwork ahead of the 2017 exhibition?

All of the artwork can be seen on our website here along with their lot number, title and medium. A list of the contributing artists can be found here.

Where will they be exhibited?

The artwork will be on show at Unit London, 4 Mercer’s Walk, Covent Garden, London WC3H 9F on 14th - 16th November 2017. The private view will take place on the 14th November from 6:30-9pm.  

How can I bid in the auction?

This year’s auction will be hosted by Ewbank’s on the 16th November 2017 at the Ewbanks Surrey Saleroom. People will be able to bid both online and in person, to register to bid click here.

When will I know which artist produced which artwork?

We will make a downloadable PDF available on our website linking each artist to their work. 


Photography on a Postcard

How many photographs will be in the show?


How many of the photographers featured in the show were in the open call?

The ratio is two thirds invited photographers and one third open call.

What size are the photographs? 

Each photograph will be a postcard sized (10x15cms) edition of one and will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.

Where will they be exhibited?

The photographs will be on display at theprintspace, Shoreditch from 12th – 24th October, with a Private View taking place at 7:30pm on 12th October.

How can I purchase a photograph? Is there a limited to how many I can buy?

Tickets will be available to purchase through our online shop from 5th October. Each ticket guarantees a photograph, although you won’t know which one until after the show closes on 26th October. There is no limit to how many tickets each individual can buy however only 1200 tickets will be available, after which no more purchases can be made.

How does the lottery work? 

After the event, each ticket number will be allocated a photograph using a computerised random number generator.  A list of ticket numbers and the corresponding photograph will be announced on our blog and a newsletter will be sent out sharing the link once live.
