Art Car Boot Fair

Art Car Boot Fair is all about originals this year and Art Car Boot Fair thought we’d have some fun with the theme. We’ve teamed up with Harland Miller to create a limited edition run of 50 postcard sized prints of Hates Outta Date with a hidden hand finished print worth £4000 mixed into the editions. The prints will be available by buying a ticket and the winner will be revealed once all the tickets have gone.

‘I donate to Art on a Postcard each year. They are raising money to eliminate hepatitis C.  I’m more than happy to do this as each year they set out their targets, whether it’s getting Westminster or the World Health Assembly to sign up to their program of elimination, each year they let me know they’ve succeeded. I know the money I help them raise is effective in helping them achieve their goals’ Harland Miller

Tickets will only be available at the Art Car Boot Fair, July 9 2017, The Workshop, Lambeth High Street, SE1 7AG

East London-based photographer Dougie Wallace grew up in Glasgow. Internationally recognised for his long-term social documentary projects and his distinct direct style of expressive street photography, he has published three books: Stags, Hens and Bunnies - A Blackpool Story (Dewi Lewis Media, 2014), Shoreditch Wild Life (Hoxton Mini Press, 2014), and Road Wallah (Dewi Lewis publishing, 2016), all of which generated critical acclaim and a viral buzz.

His latest series “Harrodsburg” won the inaugural Magnum Photography Award 2016, and has already had two major exhibitions and featured in numerous national and international publications. A book of the Harrodsburg photographs is due to be published in early 2017.

“Living in Shoreditch has helped me develop an eye for the tragi-comic, messy side of uninhibited human behaviour. My Glasgow upbringing shaped my style, which has been described as 'visually exaggerated' and 'hard edged'. What motivates my pictures is human behaviour – I’m fascinated by people’s interactions and emotions. I’d like to think that my photos convey a personalised point of view that are believable and absurd.”

Dougie’s work has been exhibited at numerous photo festivals and gallery shows, and has featured in various publications including The Sunday Times Magazine, Le Monde, The New York Times, Stern, The Guardian, El País, The Independent, The Observer, Der Spiegel, GQ, Dazed, Vice, BBC, Die Zeit, and CNN.
