Arresting subject matter camouflaged in joyous tones, the work of Paul Insect is well known for its provoking and challenging depiction of society. From bishops dressed as clowns and skeleton playboy bunnies to syringe bearing angels he does not shy away from the provocative and disturbing. Highly regarded by Damien Hurst, his first major show in London in 2007 entitled ‘Bullion’ was bought out by the world renowned contemporary artist before it even opened to the public. His signature practice of mixed media collage utilises our emotive responses to colour theory as a way to disarm the viewer and lure them in to questioning our culture of corruption and self-gratification.
Insect has worked alongside Banksy at The Can Festival and deemed a street art trailblazer. His work can be seen internationally adorning our streets in cities such as Stockholm, London, Los Angeles and Sydney to name just a few. We are thrilled to have his work in this year’s Moniker Art Fair as a part of our guaranteed lottery.
