The Fragiltiy of Innocence

Full of visual oxymorons the work of Delphine Lebourgeois shines with its vibrancy and feminine silhouettes yet depicts the desperate search for companionship that the youth face. Her girls gather in militarised yet casual formations, clutching guns and fighting for their freedom. Lebourgeois examines these extreme sources of comfort that the young turn to, blending a narrative of empowerment and vulnerability for a cause that is questionable yet fiercely believed in.
"My aim is to tell stories via precise scenarios that explore the realm of power relations whilst questioning Illustrative and Fine Art traditions"

Lebourgeois has created these two cards to feature at Moniker Art Fair. To see more of her work, visit her website or Facebook page.
