Subdued colour pallets and strong female imagery have become core themes in the work of London based Spanish illustrator Cristina BanBan. Having spent her childhood in Barcelona, she carries within her a hot collision of cultures and perspectives. Her recent solo exhibition There isnt Milk for the Tea explores what this cross over can mean for ones memories and simple routines of the everyday.
While being surrounded by the fast paced energy that is London living, her work holds a quality of being steadfast and immovable. A safety if you will in this sea of transition. She has maintained her essence of strength and femininity through a distinct painting style, exploring the human form in all its stages. BanBan has created the above piece to help raise money for The Hepatitis C Trust through this year’s Summer Postcard Lottery with Culture Label.
